For those Seinfeld fans that remember when George worked for the Yankees and would hide under his desk, this is what I imagine Congressman Ellsworth must be doing while on his summer break from Congress.
During this time in the district it is his time to hear from constituents, that may be hard while hiding under a desk, but he did have a listening day in his office. This was a complete joke. If you where lucky enough to be one of the chosen people you got to spend 15 whole minutes with the King, and tell him what you think of this socialized health care plan that is being shoved on us. But, for the peasants that had to wait outside or had been denied at the front door, because they didn’t have an appointment, TO BAD!
Well King Ellsworth did take the time and tell the Courier&Press nothing, which is his normal statement.
After the final meeting, Ellsworth told reporters the daylong block of personal meetings gave him the chance to hear nearly every point of view imaginable.
“It ranged from ‘We don’t want anything to change at all’ to ‘We need something right now.’ I had people in here strongly advocating (a single-payer universal health care system), and I had people completely on the other side.”
Afterward, the second-term congressman told the Courier & Press that despite having no position on the current bill, he knows enough to be certain he will oppose any proposal for a single-payer universal health care system.
Can you imagine that? He still doesn’t have an opinion on this bill. Sort of like he didn’t have an opinion on the Cap and Tax bill until Speaker Pelosi let him off the hook. I am sure he will not have a position on this bill until Speaker Pelosi has enough votes to pass it and lets him off the hook again. How sad it is.
