Dan Stockton who is wanting to challenging Congressman Ellsworth sent out this letter last night. And sense the media never wants to offer up any space for anyone that wants to challenge the pretty Congressman, I told him I would post his letter. Enjoy!
Congressman Ellsworth Believes the 8th District is Evansville
Congressman Ellsworth announced that he would speak to his constituents about the proposed healthcare plan. He wants to hear what the people have to say. That is, if you can be in Evansville between the hours of 8am to 5pm on a Thursday. That’s right, folks. As long as you don’t reside in any of the other 17 counties in the 8th district and if you either don’t work or can take off from work, you can possibly speak with the Congressman in HIS office on HIS time. I’m certain he’ll get a great cross-sectional response that indicates accurately how we all feel about Obamacare. Riiiiggghhhtttt
I for one am tired of Congressmen that claim concern for the people and act like this. I’m sure we’ll hear in the media how Congressman Ellsworth marked this down as not only a successful meeting of his constituents but also how he’s showing concern by getting their opinion before the vote. I want to know where HE stands. I want to know why he couldn’t have at LEAST scheduled a time more convenient to more people and a place more centralized in the district. I want to know that he’s accessible and I don’t see from this event that he is.
I’ve been spending a lot of time driving around this district, stopping in small towns, talking with business owners and people in the streets. I’ll admit I haven’t YET been to every county, but I’ve only missed TWO so far. I know what the constituency thinks and the resounding answer is NO! We don’t want the government to take over our health care any more than we wanted them to take over our banks and our auto industry. I hope in the coming months and in the following year that everyone sees whom Congressman Ellsworth represents and it’s not we the people.
